I was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, but have been in Denver since elementary school. I’m a proud DPS graduate! After I attended CSU and Metro State for undergrad and teaching licensure, I later went back to school for a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Integrated Arts from Lesley University. I started teaching for DPS in 1997 and have taught 3rd, 4th, Art, GT, and special education. When I’m not in school I’m riding bikes with my family or visiting with my friends.

Team Lead, Gifted Resource Teacher
I’m a Denver native and have been a staff member at Polaris for many years. I taught at Steele Elementary and other schools in the Denver area for 10 years before that. After working in the business world for 10 years, I earned my teaching license through the Stanley British Primary School’s teacher preparation program, which promotes a strong constructivist philosophy. With both my bachelor’s and a master’s degree (educational psychology) from CU Denver, I believe that gifted children need special care. Working with this population is an honor and a daily reminder of what’s important in life. I spend my free time reading a mixture of classics and light novels, puttering in my garden, remodeling my cabin in Conifer, and doing yoga.
