Many Polaris family members play an active role in the school experience by volunteering in the classroom, organizing events, and serving on committees. Here are ways to pitch in!
Volunteering in the Classroom
There are many ways to volunteer in Polaris classrooms, and teachers really enjoy the help! You can be a room parent, chaperone field trips, manage special projects, plan class parties, and give teachers clerical aid. To find out how to volunteer in your student’s class, please contact your teacher or classroom parent. Please note that volunteering with students requires a Volunteer Application and Background Check.

In order to ensure our students’ safety, prior to certain types of volunteering, school volunteers must complete a DPS Volunteer Application/Background Check form. This application is required if you plan to:
- Volunteer in the classroom more than five times per year
- Chaperone a field trip, or
- Lead a before or after school enrichment.
You can download an application here, or grab one in the Polaris main office. School volunteer background checks are good for three years. If you have completed the application in the past but are unsure if you’re current, please email the Polaris Vice Chair at polarisPTOvicechair@gmail.com, or call the Polaris office at 720-424-7860.
