Many Polaris family members play an active role in the school experience by volunteering in the classroom, organizing events, and serving on committees. Current Volunteer Needs

PTO Officer Openings

We are looking for people to serve as PTO officers for the 2023-2024 school year. If you are interested in getting more involved, please contact the PTO chair at polarisPTOchair@gmail.com

Edukit Coordinator

Duties: Spring – coordinate with teachers to finalize supply lists for upcoming school year, coordinate kits with EduKit contact, publicize kits (signage around school, Thursday folders, ePost, Polaris website). Fall – upon delivery to school in August, coordinate sorting of kits & delivery to classrooms. Follow up on payment.

Dine & Donate Coordinator

Duties: Coordinate with local restaurants to arrange Dine & Donate events in various neighborhoods with scheduling input from PTO board members. Publicize events to Polaris community. Follow up on payment and track information to help inform future events.

Polaris Gear Coordinator/Gear Team

Gear Team Duties: Manage Polaris Shopify online gear store, coordinate gear sales at school events, fulfill online orders, track inventory, coordinate new gear orders.

Auction volunteers needed!

The PTO needs volunteers to help plan and execute The Auction, our annual spring fundraiser. To find out more, email the Auction Chair at polarisPTOauction@gmail.com.

Do you have an idea for something new? We are always open to parents or community members who see a need or have an idea and want to fulfill it! Contact any of the PTO members or join us at a PTO meeting, and we’ll explore how we can support each other and our school community.

Application for Current and Prospective Volunteers

Volunteer Application and Background Check

In order to ensure our students’ safety, prior to certain types of volunteering, school volunteers must complete a DPS Volunteer Application/Background Check form. This application is required if you plan to:

You can apply online. School volunteer background checks are good for one year. If you have completed the application in the past (not online), you must fill out a new form. No exceptions. This service is free.

After completing the online registration, bring your photo ID and fill out a Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement/Acknowledgment form (this can be done on the first day of volunteering). This form can only be completed in the Polaris Office.
