Polaris is a Gifted Magnet elementary school within DPS. Students who attend Polaris must first be pre-qualified by the DPS Gifted and Talented Department. Please visit their website at https://studentequity.dpsk12.org/gifted-talented/. After that, families must use the Denver Public Schools yearly Choice and Enrollment program. Round 1 of SchoolChoice for the 2020-21 school year is open from 8:30am January 15 to 4:00pm February 18, 2020. If your student is Magnet Eligible, we would love to be a consideration as you identify the best fit school for the 2020-2021 school year.
Please contact the main office (720-424-7860) to schedule your school tour. Tours are scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Please note that tours are for adults only.
After SchoolChoice Round 1 ends and you have received results about your enrollment status, we may schedule shadow days for students.
Polaris is located at 410 Park Ave West Denver, CO 80205. There is street parking on 22nd , Tremont and Glenarm. Please give yourself at least 5 extra minutes for parking & please avoid the teacher parking lot. When you arrive, enter the school via the main doors on Park Avenue West and ring the buzzer to your left. We look forward to meeting you soon!

with a sibling admitted at the school
2. District resident students with a sibling admitted at the school
3. Students who reside in the Polaris Gifted Magnet feeder school zone
4. District resident students currently impacted by school closure
5. All other District resident students
6. Non‐District resident students with a sibling admitted to the school
7. All other non‐District resident students

For the 2020-2021 school year, students who reside in the Polaris Gifted Magnet feeder school zone are eligible for transportation. However, the District notified Polaris families in January 2020 that it will need to make changes to the Polaris bus service for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond, including possible reduction in bus service. More information about changes to Polaris bus service should be available in the fall of 2020.
